Wine Cooler Repair

Undercounter and column wine storage — zone drift, condensation on the glass, thermoelectric and compressor faults, door seal and UV glass work.

Undercounter wine cooler full of bottles with its lower grille removed, compressor exposed and tools laid out on a blanket

What we get called for

  • 01 Upper zone holding 62°F when it is set to 55°F and the lower zone is fine
  • 02 Condensation forming on the inside of the glass door every evening
  • 03 Unit humming continuously and the bottles feeling warm to the hand
  • 04 Interior lighting flickering and the control panel resetting itself

How the visit runs

The unit is read before it is opened: model and serial, current cabinet temperatures and the fault history. Then the sealed system goes under gauges, the defrost circuit and thermistors are metered, and airflow at the evaporator is measured. You get a written diagnosis and a firm price before anything is ordered or replaced.

Common parts ride on the van — evaporator fan motors, defrost heaters, thermistors, gaskets, inlet valves and the widespread control boards. Sealed-system components are ordered against your serial so the part arriving is the part that fits.

  1. Condensation on the glass every evening and a musty smell starting. The seal had relaxed on the hinge side and the interior fan was barely moving air. Gasket and fan in one visit, racks wiped down.

  2. Interior lighting flickered and the panel reset itself at random. A failing control board, ordered against our serial and fitted the following week. Longer wait than I hoped, hence four stars, but the price was known up front.

  3. Unit hummed constantly and the bottles felt warm. He pulled it out and showed me a condenser coil felted with dust and a fan at half speed. Cleaned, fan replaced, quiet again.

Model number and a description of the fault is usually enough to narrow it before anyone is dispatched. Kirkland calls booked before 11:00 are normally seen the same day. The service call is $89 flat and comes straight off an approved repair.
