Freezer Repair
Freezer columns, drawers and lower compartments — frost buildup, harvest failures, sealed-system leaks and evaporator icing.
What we get called for
- 01 Heavy frost on the back wall that returns within a week of being cleared
- 02 Ice cream soft at -5°F when the display still reads 0°F
- 03 Loud fan buzz or a rattling scrape that changes when the door is opened
- 04 Freezer drawer that will not close flush because of ice on the rails
How the visit runs
The unit is read before it is opened: model and serial, current cabinet temperatures and the fault history. Then the sealed system goes under gauges, the defrost circuit and thermistors are metered, and airflow at the evaporator is measured. You get a written diagnosis and a firm price before anything is ordered or replaced.
Common parts ride on the van — evaporator fan motors, defrost heaters, thermistors, gaskets, inlet valves and the widespread control boards. Sealed-system components are ordered against your serial so the part arriving is the part that fits.

Sheet of frost across the freezer floor and water tracking down the back panel. He cleared the blocked drain, replaced a cracked drain cup and sealed the grommet properly rather than taping it. Two months dry.

Lower drawer would not shut flush because ice had built along the rails. Instead of chipping it out he looked for the cause and found the drawer heater circuit dead. New heater, rails cleaned, clicks shut again.

Back wall frosted over again within a week of every clearing. Defrost terminator open, drain tube frozen at the base. Both sorted in one visit and no frost since.

Model number and a description of the fault is usually enough to narrow it before anyone is dispatched. Kirkland calls booked before 11:00 are normally seen the same day. The service call is $89 flat and comes straight off an approved repair.
