In the order it happens
The model and serial number come off the product rating plate first, since one symptom can mean different parts on different generations. On a BI-36F all-freezer the condenser sits behind the flip-up grille, so that is where the first look goes. Next, a probe goes into each compartment and its reading is set beside what the control claims to be holding. From there the fault is followed back to a single part: the fans are listened to, the coil is checked for frost, and the board and its sensors are metered.
What you have when it ends

What it leaves out
